I am a Professor of Economics at the University of Manitoba and serve on the editorial boards of Defence and Peace Economics and the Journal of Economics, Race, and Policy. I earned a PhD in economics from Washington University in St.Louis.

My research often examines how institutional structures, economic policy, and conflict shape economic outcomes across countries and populations. I am also easily drawn into interesting projects with new people! My recent work has appeared in the Southern Economic Journal, Economic Modelling, Defence and Peace Economics, and Journal of Economics, Race, and Policy.
